For whom
are we,
and why bilingualism?

Our educational program is a match for:

Russian-speaking children whose parents want to develop bilingualism for their child and make the first days at the USA school easier.

 The U.S. census shows that 27 percent of children under the age of 6 learn a language other than English at home. If such children cannot learn English before kindergarten entry often lag behind their peers once they enter school;

and for English-speaking children whose parents want to let them learn Russian languages and develop a bilingual brain.

Bilingualism is the essential question today—many world-famous Universities are studying bilingualism and its influence on the education process. Parents in the United States are eager to provide their children with an opportunity to learn a foreign language early.

Almost every state approved the State Seal of Biliteracy, which can be evidence of attractive skills to future employers and college admissions offices.

Why is bilingualism an essential question for child care?

A lot of research shows that bilingual experience improves cognitive abilities, especially problem-solving skills.

1) Learning a second language in early childhood makes it easier than in adulthood.

Between the ages of 0-3, the brain is the most flexible stage, and children can learn a second language as quickly as their primary language. Bilingually exposed infants excelled in detecting a switch in language as early as six months old. Until age 8, they benefit from flexible ear and speech muscles that help them see differences between the sound of languages.

2) Bilingualism gives cognitive and mental benefits.

Bilingual toddlers must choose and activate language in the brain to communicate. It resolves internal conflict giving the mental workout that strengthens its cognitive muscles. As a result, they may have a superior ability to focus on one thing and change their response. Bilingual experience improves the brain's command center, thus allowing it to plan, solve problems and perform other mentally demanding tasks.

3) While it may be easier for young children to pick up a second language, there are benefits for adults as well.

Bilingual adults demonstrate better attention and concentration and respond faster and more accurately than their monolingual peers, according to Kapa and Colombo, 2013. Recent brain studies showed that a second language could protect from the Brain Disorders such as Alzheimer's.

As we can see, early learning of a second language positively affects the brain's development in childhood and, at the same time, reflects cognitive benefits for adults. Learning a second language does not negatively impact the child's native language.

Welcome Letter

Dear Beloved Families,

You are very welcome to our Small Family Child Care by MELE!

We are Maria and Evgeny, parents of two sons, Elisey, 12 years old, and Leon, 4 years old. Our sons inspired us to begin and develop in child education, learning, and training.

Maria

I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Civil Law, as well as Child Care Provider Training, Early Learner Development, and School-Age Care and Leadership Certificates. Additionally, I mastered specialized coursework in Early Learner Outdoor Enrichment and Infant/Toddler Brain Dance, trained in CPR/AID, First Aid, and Preventive Health Practice.

I have experience supervising a group of infants and toddlers, creating and teaching game lessons, organizing full-day summer camps, being a homeschooling teacher in the United States and Russian schools, and working with college-age students.

Ten years ago, my main motivation became our first son- Elisey. He was born in Moscow and had experience studying in Russia and the United States.

I use all the best I found in the educational systems of both countries to make a safe environment and a compelling and exciting daily schedule for comfortable physical, cognitive and social-emotional development in our Family Child Care for Leon and his friends.

Evgeny

I have a Master's Degree in Management, certified in CPR/AID, First Aid, and Preventive Health Practice. Sports, physical activities, and development are critical parts of my life. I'm a 3rd class athlete in Table Tennis and Sporting, a Member of International Hockey Tournaments, and a Participant of the National Team Russian for Sporting, has an experience as a table tennis and physical education coach for preschool and young school-age children.

According to educational standards, children aged 1 year up to 3 years should be physically active for at least three hours each day, including energetic play. Children aged 3 years up to 5 years should be physically active for at least three hours each day, one hour of energetic play.

Based on it I am sure that creating age-appropriate physical training for

developing physical skills through the game. I pay special attention to creating safe environments.

We will be happy to see you in our fun squad!
